I’m working from Tokyo so I thought it would be timely to take a look back at one of the seminal events in Japanese corporate history: the arrest of Carlos Ghosn.
The chart uses Bloomberg data to illustrate the surge in news coverage (the blue bars) and mostly negative news sentiment (the red bars) that Nissan experienced. The white line shows the decline in share prices.
One takeaway is that the company continues to see elevated volumes of news coverage and on balance the articles continue to be negative.
