I used to assume that news coverage of companies increased in proportion to investor interest.
If that’s the case then Lululemon is undercovered relative to recent performance.
My chart shows the stock price in yellow overlaid on the daily number of news stories in white. The spikes almost always occur when $LULU reports earnings (the green icons).
So there is huge interest when LULU reports but that interest, along with a surge in share price, hasn’t translated into proportionately more day-to-day press coverage. (Note: the news counts cited include more than 150,000 sources carried on Bloomberg)
