Tech companies including Amazon, Facebook, Netflix, Microsoft, Google and Twitter are among the most actively traded stocks. They are also among the most heavily covered by journalists.

As most of those shares have been surging recently, I wanted to take a look at how those two measures track. Story counts and turnover data is from #Bloomberg.

Today’s charts show how equity turnover compares with the volume of news coverage. Quants including Paul Besson at Kepler Cheuvreux have shown that spikes in news coverage tend to correlate with higher volumes.
