You can’t avoid talking about ESG these days.
I moderated a buy-side conference in Helsinki last week put on by Evenco and most of the speakers touched on the topic.
Bloomberg is adding a tremendous amount news coverage, data and functionality about ESG, which should over time increase the consensus about the topic.
One of the cooler charts I showed was a break down of the S&P 500 (or any index) by the percentage of woman on the board of each company. (DM me if you want to know more.)
Investors want more ESG data to properly evaluate whether a company belongs in their portfolio.
One of the speakers, Pauline Grange, a PM at Columbia Threadneedle, illustrated that point when she talked about Tesla, which gets varying scores depending on environmental or governance issues.
