One of the things you notice watching social media is that there tend to be more tweets about companies than news articles. Usually two to three times more. And that makes sense because its so much easier to post to Twitter.

Which is why my chart today is so strange. Tweets about Apple have fallen off considerably over the past 12 months while news coverage has increased.

As a result the ‘Apple’s ratio of news to Tweets is approaching 2. By contrast, Facebook and Tesla are about 0.50.
